What is Making Tax Digital (MTD)?
MTD is HMRC's initiative to digitalise the UK tax system. From April 2026, landlords with qualifying income must keep digital records and submit quarterly updates to HMRC.
Do I need MTD software?
Yes. If your gross property income exceeds the threshold (currently planned at £50,000 from April 2026, then £30,000 from April 2027), you must use MTD-compatible software like Filesy.
